A 10 member Governing Council for the effective take-off of the Moshood Abiola University of Science and Technology (MAUSTECH), Abeokuta, have been inaugurated by the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun.
The Governor after the inauguration, which took place at the Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, charged the Council to take responsibility, ensure smooth take off and administration of the new institution.
Amosun added that the University was expected to take-off with the already existing structure of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Ojere, while the polytechnic now has its structure at Ipokia Local Government Area of the State, as ‘’Ogun State Polytechnic, Ipokia’’.
The Governor while expressing optimism in the members, said, “I’m happy with the calibre of people in the Council, we don’t just appoint anybody, the ten- member council has special qualities in them’’.

He noted that the National University Commission had since given approval for the institution, adding that his government would give the Council the master plan and take off grant for effective start up.
Speaking after the inauguration, the Chairman of the Council and Pro Chancellor of Moshood Abiola University of Science and Technology, Mr. Oye Hassan Odukale, promised to take up the challenge and come up with a University that the State would all be proud of, saying together with the Vice Chancellor, Professor Akinwale Coker, the Council would involve professionals and project the institution to the world.
Other members of the Council include; Prof. Adeoye Akinsanya, Chief Wale Taiwo, Prof. Najeem Adesola Babarinde, Arc. Ibukun Sonola, Mrs. Bunmi Oke, Engr. Segun Adeleye, Bldr. Dapo Adesega and Ms. Amina Oyagbola.
