Towards promoting a healthy lifestyle and boosting sport participation in Ogun State, the first 10km race will hold on Saturday, November 2, by 9.a.m.
A release signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Job Creation and Youth Empowerment, Hon. Lekan Olude said the race which was in collaboration with JAC Motors had kick-started with Race Expo from October 28, 2019, would run till November 1, 2019, at the Moshood Abiola International Stadium, Abeokuta, from 9am to 5pm daily, with distribution of running kits to registered participants free of charge.
The release stated that there would be a World Press Conference on Friday, November 1 by 7p.m at IBD International Hotel, Abeokuta, with the presence of invited elite athletes, World body (International Association of Athletics Federation) representatives, Sponsors, the media and other stakeholders.
The 10km race would begin at 6a.m, with take off point at Iyana-Oloke Junction area of Onikolobo, Abeokuta, where the runners would pass through Panseke, Omida road to Isale-Igbehin, Sapon, Ago-Oko, Ake Round-about through Arinlese, to burst out at Saje Junction, back to Isale-Ake and finally terminate at Ake Palace ground which will be the finish point.
The release enjoined motorists and the general public to avoid these routes from 6a.m till noon and adhere to TRACE notice on route diversions, urging people living around the highlighted routes to come out en-masse to cheer up the runners
