“Ogun is known for successful hajj, for many years it has always been the first to airlift pilgrims and this is one of the reasons why you have been appointed. If you have any challenge, please let us know, so we can resolve them within this short period of constituting this body. I am hopeful that we would be able to work together”, she said.

Briefing the Deputy Governor on the Committee’s arrangements, the Executive Secretary, Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (OGSMPWB), Alhaji Abdulhakeem Kalejaye, disclosed that over 600 pilgrims had been confirmed, certified and ready to embark on the journey, adding that the Committee could still accommodate more intending pilgrims, as adequate provisions for their well-being had been put in place.

He added that the Committee would leave no stone unturned to ensure a successful pilgrimage, as well as airlift of pilgrims for the exercise, saying “the Board has been able to screen, inoculate, as well as organise seminars to further orientate them”.

Responding, the Chairman of the Committee, Imam Muftau Majekodunmi, appreciated the Deputy Governor for her role in their appointment and pledged that the committee would deliver as expected.

“The members of the committee are doing great job. We are ready to deliver and take good care of Pilgrims; we may have challenges though, we are going to surmount them’’, he said.
