The Ijeja Traditional Council Withdraws Recognition from its Olori Aje as the Olori Parakoyi Ijeja.
The Ijeja Traditional Council says it has withdrawn its recognition and Certificate of Chief Aremu Oyedele Bamgboye as the Olori Aje of Ijeja Township.
According to the Odofin of Ijeja Township, the Ijeja Traditional Council met to take decision that led to the withdrawal of the recognition and certificate of Olori Aje, Chief Aremu Oyedele Bamgboye, after due consultation with His Royal Majesty the Alake and Paramount ruler of Egba land Oba Aremu Gbadebo Okukena IV.
In a letter addressed to Chief Aremu Oyedele Bamgboye and signed by the Odofin of Ijeja, and Secretary/Ekerin Ijeja, Chief Olawale Sodipo, as well as copied to the Alake of Egbaland, the Ijeja Council explained its action against the Olori Aje for what it described as Chief Bamgboye’s refusal to perform his function as the Parakoyi of Ijeja Township.
The letter, dated 26 March, 2021, further directed Chief Aremu Oyedele Bamgboye to hand over instruments of his office as Olori Aje to the Oluwo of Ijeja, Chief Mukaila Atanda Akinwande. , on or before April 2nd, 2021.
The letter also directed Chief Aremu Oyedele Bamgboye to stop parading himself as the Olori Aje of Ijeja Township henceforth.
