The Ogun State Governor and the Ogun Central Senator elect, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has expressed satisfaction in the peaceful conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly elections in the State.
Addressing newsmen after the State Executive Council meeting in Abeokuta, Amosun said the elections was rancour free, appreciating the roles of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Security Operatives, Observers, the Media and other stakeholders who participated in the election process.
“I wish to put on record the peaceful conduct of the election by INEC and the excellent security arrangement by the security agencies including; the Army, Navy, DSS, and most especially the Nigeria Police and other paramilitary agencies”, Amosun stated.
Amosun speaking on the lapses witnessed at the polls said, “the process was slow, imaging a Presiding Officer having to sign all the ballot papers”, enjoining the electoral body to improve on the process before the March 9 Governorship and House of Assembly elections.
Speaking on his representation at the Senate, the Governor pledged to effectively and efficiently represent his District in the 9th Senate, thanking the good people for the support given to his administration for the smooth running of the State.
