Keesi Building Complex, a town hall project dating 27 years back was finally commissioned today, January the 17th 2020 at the Keesi Day Anniversary at Oke Ijemo, Keesi, Abeokuta.

Chieftaincy Awards were presented to devoted personalities who have made undeniable impact in the development of the townships of which the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland was first to be awarded for his numerous contributions to the better future of Keesi townships, High Chief Akanni Akinwale and his wife was also awarded for his exemplary leadership and team playing role in the fastracking of the progress of the townships’ aims. Chief Kayode Egbekunle, an indigene of Keesi who is a Miner and a major Donor to the completion of the Hall was also honoured with an award, Evang. Ebenezer Obey Fabiyi was also noted by the Alake of Egbaland to be a patriotic man who always contribute to the upliftment of the townships and lastly, Alh Engr. Olanrewuju Bisiriyu was also awarded at the occasion.

Prominent Keesi Chiefs Honouring the Alake of Egbaland

At the event, Gbalefa People represented by Baale Alatan and other Chiefs paid homage, to the Alake and informed him that they had gone to Court and won case of ownership of Gbalefa by the Egbas.

Keesi has the first maternity centre in Egba and was amoung the first to build a secondary school, this is because dedicated indigenes of Keesi work hard to ensure the development of the area, Keesi is about the best of 143 townships and most of the leading professionals, businessmen, and Academics from Keesi are committed and loyal to Keesi townships and Egbaland in general.

The Alake of Egbaland and his entourage

The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, when speaking at the occasion urged other townships to imitate Keesi in terms of educational and physical development of their areas. He however, added that they should not allow any project to last as much as 27 years such as happened in the case of the Keesi Building Complex.

He commended all the patriotic Keesi leaders who have been calling shots regarding the development of the areas and urged all Egba Townships and indigenes to emulate the unity and understanding among the Keesi people to fast track development in their Areas.

The Alake thanked the Baagbimo of Egbaland for good leadership and his team playing role because it was during his time that they were able to rally round a 27 year old project and complete it within a short period

He also commended Chief Segun Sowunmi and his father for the prominent roles they have been playing towards the development of Keesi, he further commended Evang. Ebenezer Obey, Chief Bisiriyu and many others who have made numerous impacts towards upliftment of the townships.

The occasion was graced with the presence of many Egba High dignitaries including; Oba Babajide Bakre, the Agura of Gbagura, Chief Olatunji Abiodun Oluyomi (Oba-elect) Alatan of Atan of Atan Gbalefaland, Chief Timothy Adeoye Fakeye (Baale Oke-Ore), Chief Olawale Shokunbi Oyero (Baale Agana-Oyero), Chief Folayan Edun (Baale-Ilewo -Alaga) Muraina Atanda Ayinde, (Baale Olorunda-Adekanbi-Maku) Chief Seun Solomon Asade, Mr. Adeshina Kareem,Chief (Mrs) Modupeola Sodiya (Erelu Baajito Egba) Alh. Chief Layi Labode, Aare Baaroyin of Egbaland to mention a few.
