Activities marking the 50th Anniversary of the Abeokuta Club, continue on Friday 5th of August 2022 at the Club’s Millennium Hall.
Programme for the day would include commissioning of projects and Awards of Excellence to the Egba Royalties which include the Alake, the Oshile, the Agura and the newly installed Olowu of Owu.
The Chairman of Publicity sub-Committe of the Club’s 50th Anniversary, Bashorun Festus Kehinde, disclosed that, the Balogun Owu, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, founding President, Sobo Sowemimo, other past Presidents and Secretaries as well as those who had spent more than 15 years as members, would also be honoured.
Bashorun Festus Kehinde further disclosed that, special Awards would also be extended to former Governor of Western, Oluwole Rotimi and his late brother, the Baba Ewe of the Club, Chief Kuforiji Rotimi, as well as many important dignitaries from within and outside Egbaland.
Among those to be honoured are the Club’s members who participated in the Anniversary Talk Show, The Interactive Session on Good Governance Or MisGovernance, Chief OgoOluwa Bankole Chairman, Mercyland Group of Schools and Premier Paints.
Other panel members to also receive Awards are Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, Asiwaju Baamofin Egba, Barrister Gbenga Adeoye.
A Patron and founding member of the Club, Nigeria’s former President Olusegun Obasanjo, would preside on the day’s events.
The Grand Finale which rounds off the week-long celebrations comes up on Saturday and would feature Swearing in of new members and Anniversary Luncheon at the Club.
At the Saturday Grand Finale, The Grand Patron of the Club, His Majesty, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo CFR, would be the Chairman of the Peak Occasion.
The Executive Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, would be the special Guest of Honour.
