Members of the Abeokuta Club, led by its President, Engineer Tokunbo Odebunmi, paid a courtesy visit to His Majesty, Oba Saburee Babajide Bakre, the Agura of Gbagura, at his Palace, Gbagura, Abeokuta.Speaking on behalf of the Club, the President, Engr Tokunbo Odebunmi, said that Club had come to pay a courtesy visit to identity with the Agura during his in-house traditional briefing and tutelage before his official coronation.
Engineer Odebunmi said that by the position of the Agura in the Egba Traditional Council, Oba Bakre is automatically a Patron of the Abeokuta Club.
Responding on behalf of the Agura, a Senior Courtier and the Balogun of Ira-Gbagura, High Chief Nurudeen Olaleye, thanked members of the Club for their respect, love and honour being accorded Oba Bakre adding that the Agura would continue to identity and work for unity and progress of Gbagura and Egbaland.
Balogun Ira, Chief Olaleye, also disclosed that the week long official coronation of Oba Saburee Bakre, would kick on the 11th of next month with grand finale on the 18th.
Prince Justice Demola Bakre, a Senior Prince from Gbagura, offered special prayers for the Kabiyesi and the Abeokuta Club.
Members of the Club that visited the Agura included, Past President Professor Afolabi Soyode, First Vice President (Dr) Adeola, General Secretary Chief Sesan Okutoro, Babalaje Egba Olootu OgoOluwa Bankole, Seriki (Arc) Waheed Adetona, TRACE Cmdr Ogunyemi, Chief Adeyemi the Elebute of Egbaland, Chief Sobayo and Baaroyin Layi Labode
Two other Agura Chiefs, present at the occasion were Chief Ishola and Chief Ayo Koleade.
In a similar development, two members of the Abeokuta Sports Club, Dr. Kehinde Oshinfade and Princess Adenike Osibo, were also at the Agura Palace to pay a private courtesy visit.
Dr Kehinde Oshifade said that he and many members of the Abeokuta Sports Club were very delighted about the appointment of Oba Saburee Bakre as the new Agura.
