A suit aimed at stopping the second term tenure as the Medical Director for Federal Medical Center, Abeokuta, has been rejected.
The suit which was filled by non-governmental organization Youths Reoriented Initiative of Nigeria (AYIRION) had sought the removal of Prof. Adewale Musa-Olomu’s second term appointment on the ground that his appointment has not followed due process
Delivering her judgment, Justice (Mrs) Oguntoyinbo, said that the plaintiff’s prayers lacked merit because they failed to prove that Olomu’s second term’s appointment was against public interest and benefits.
Mrs. Oguntoyinbo awarded a sum of N100,000 In favour of the plaintiff
In his reaction, Professor Adewale Olomu, the Medical Director, said he was very pleased and excited about the Court judgment adding that God had ultimately ensured that justice prevailed.
Professor Olomu recalled that he had repeatedly said it that his administration stood for justice, noting that the Court had spoken and people of goodwill were grateful to God .
The Medical Director appreciated his admirers and well wishers who stood solidly behind for justice, fair play progress and of the Federal Government Tertiary Medical Institution, while the case was going on.
