Abeokuta, Ogun state capital may have two Amphitheaters.
This was disclosed by the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, during the cross over night prayers and entertainment at the Abeokuta City Centre Amphitheatre, which is nearing completion.
The Governor told the Newsflagship Online that, the Abeokuta City Centre Amphitheatre will be the second of its kind in Africa in terms of Architectural beauty and facilities for open air activities.
He said that, it was only South Africa that had such a design and structure of the Amphitheatre being constructed at the Abeokuta City Centre.
According to the Governor, when completed, the multipurpose complex would accommodate world class shows and entertainment which would boost tourism and generate foreign exchange for the State.
He noted with satisfaction, the speed at which works were going on at the City Centre which he said would accommodate about three Major Banks, Shopping Malls, Hotels, Amphitheatre and other World Class Facilities.
In a similar vein, Senator Ibikunle Amosun also told our reporter that a similar Amphitheatre was undergoing construction to upgrade Ake F-oregrounds to an eight-thousand-sitting capacity.
He explained that the project was part of long term plan to boost Tourism and relaxation Centers in Ogun State
The Cross Over Night, the first of its kind since the creation of Ogun State 43 years ago was attended by members of the Ogun State Executives Council, the spouse of the Ogun State, her excellency, Dr Olufunso Amosun, the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo and wife, Olori Dr Tokunbo Gbadebo, some Traditional Rulers, the Balogun of Egbaland, High Chief Sikirullah Atobatele and Aare Baaroyin Layi Labode.
