The newly sworn-in Transition Committee Chairman of Ipokia Local Government, Hon. Abolurin Abiola, has been charged to take the task of overseeing the affairs of his Council as serious and enormous responsibility.
Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, who gave the charge during the swearing-in ceremony of the Transition Chairman, at the Conference Room of the Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, enjoined him to justify the confidence reposed in him.
“You must take this task as an enormous and serious responsibility. You must know that Providence itself has made you Chairman of this Council and the least you can do is to show appreciation by demonstrating good leadership and not let us down”, he said.
Prince Abiodun urged him to work in harmony with the Council management, career officers and traditional institutions, adding that he should be closer to the grassroots for necessary feedbacks, in order to achieve set goals for the upliftment of the Local Government.
The Governor disclosed that he has instructed law enforcement agencies to ensure that Local Government Councils in border areas were given priority in terms of equipment currently being distributed across the State, assuring that every part of the State was important to the present administration.
“I am sure in the coming days, you will be seeing new motorcycles, vehicles, new telecommunication devices that will be given to you, not just to the law enforcement agencies, even to the Local Government Chairman, so that you are in touch with the, Divisional Police Officer, Police Post and even the Commissioner of Police”, he said.
In his remark, the Transition Committee chairman, Ipokia Local Government, Hon. Abiola, assured of his readiness to surpass all expectations, saying he would ensure good governance for the people of the area.
