Alake And Lions Club International To Assist Arigbajo Town With Sanitation Campaigns And Materials In Order To Achieve Clean And Serene Environment.

The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo in collaboration with the Lions Club International, is to embark on Sanitation Campaign alongside donating Sanitation Materials to encourage the inhabitants of the Arigbajo, ‘Egba Township,’ to sustain enduring salutary living and environment.

The Egba Apex Monarch, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, proposed the sanitation idea while welcoming the Regional Governor of Lions Club International, Lion Rasheed Olasukanmi Babatunde and members of the 18 Lions Club in Abeokuta at the Ake Palace on Friday 3rd June, 2022.

Oba Gbadebo also told Lion Rasheed Adeyemi, that the Olu of Arigbajo, Ona Mosaku had requested him to ask the Service Organization to extend its humanitarian activities to his domain in order to permanently encourage the Arigbajo residents, with a legacy of clean and healthy environment.

As part of the Alake’s short and long term plans, he decided to re-donate all the Industrial Refuse Bins, given him by the Lions Club, to the people of Arigbajo as the starting point, while at the same time asking the Lions Club’s District Governor to compliment the Royal Efforts by donating more industrial Refuse Bins to the people of the area.

Oba Gbadebo also commended the Lions Clubs for contributing immensely to the the development of various communities, adding that , Lions Clubs’ impacts could not be discounted among others internally and internationally.

The Alake also observed that, the Club had helped many under privileged in the society, under their humanitarian services, which needed to be commended.

He urged the Club Stakeholders to maintain their selfless service, in making the nation, a better place for its citizens.

In his response, the Lions Club District Governor, Lion Rasheed Olasukanmi Babatunde, disclosed to the Egba Apex Monarch that, each of the 18 Lions Club in Abeokuta Region as well as those in Ota Town, would contribute Refuse Bins and other Sanitation Materials to Arigbajo.

Lion Helmsman further assured to the Alake, of the Club’s readiness to periodically carry out joint sanitation campaigns with the residents of the Egba Township, whose population had been growing rapidly because of location of industries, close to the area.

Speaking on the Lions Club’s courtesy call on the Alake, he appreciated the Egba Apex Monarch for his continuous support and advice for the progress of the Club.

Mr Babatunde added that, the Monarch had always stood out, in terms of quality advice.

He stated that, Oba Alake’s reign had been bringing development and royal succour to the people of Egbaland.
