The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, has congratulated the Organizers of Senior Citizens Care Foundation for their love, patriot and commitment to the welfare of the old citizens.
Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, who was flagging off this year’s International Day for Senior Citizens at the Ake General Title Chiefs Hall today, noted that Senior Citizens care was one of the most important service anyone could render to the aged at this stage of man’s life.
The Alake recalled that he accepted to be a Patron of the Senior Citizens Care Foundation, not only because, the International Jurist, Prince Bola Ajibola, was the President, but also because he strongly believed in long term programme and philosophy of the Foundation to make old age as seamless as possible.
The Alake also appreciated the Organization’s Executive Director, Mr Jide Taiwo, for hard work in mobilizing a large number of the elderly beneficiaries within a very short period and even making them comfortable as they were screened and treated for common old age ailments.
The Egba Paramount Monarch also recalled that people, especially with eye problems, he sent to his Health Outreach on Eyes to Eruwa, came back with better and functional eyes.
Oba Adedotun Gbadebo also called on the Federal and State Governments, to legislate on enduring health care delivery system.
Earlier in his address, Jide Taiwo, told the Alake that his Foundation would continue to cherish and collaborate with the Egba Paramount Monarch for betterment of the Senior Citizens.
Mr Jide Taiwo, said the Senior Citizens Health Care Outreach, would again take place in Abeokuta, before moving to other States of the Federation.
About 200 elderly beneficiaries attended the Senior Citizens Care Foundation, collaboration with the Alake of Egbaland at Ake.
They were lectured, tested and treated for High Blood, Pressure, Diabetes, Eye Problems and other health related old age issues.
Officers of the Foundation present at the occasion include, the Organization’s Executive Director, Mr Jide Taiwo, Prince Femi Carrena, spokesman from the Chief Executive officer, Chief Tunde Oremodu, Chief Muyiwa Williams.
Among the chiefs present Oba Muftau Akindele Olu Oke-Odo Ilupeju, Bantun Kehinde Sofenwa, Mosebolaje Fatai Bodunrin and Aare Baaroyin Layi Labode.
