The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo has called on the black race to cherish their place of origin and make it a better place for the whole world to see its greatness.

Alake made this known, while receiving the former President Of Republic of Benin, Nicéphore Dieudonné and the Former Nigeria President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo at the Ake Palace on Friday, 11th of March, 2022.

In his address, Oba Gbadebo reiterated that, Africa as a continent, has to look Inward and stop looking outside, urging that, the black race needed to start believing in themselves

The Egba Apex Monarch also urged community leaders to encourage the younger ones to believe Africa is the best place in the world, noting that, Africa has a better climate, concentration of mineral resources as well human resources, only for the Africa leaders to lead their fellow Africans in a better and prosperous way to explore the untapped natural resources of the continent

He noted that, for Africa to achieve a lot on the international level, they had to survive those who wanted to suppress the black race permanently.

Speaking further, he appreciated the former President of Benin Republic and the former Nigeria President, most especially, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo who had made the visit possible.

Speaking earlier, the former Nigeria President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo noted that, he had been together with the former President of Benin Republic, Soglo for many years and they shared the same passion for what was good for their respective countries, Africa and indeed for humanity

Chief Obasanjo further disclosed that, on many occasions, he had deliberated with the former President of Benin Republic, on what, they could do to make their respective countries better, so as to forge development in West Africa and Africa as a continent.

He  stated that, Former President Soglo had always been talking about the United States of West Africa and he shared that with him.

He added that, the Organisation would be a precedent to United States of Africa.

In his remarks, the former President Of Republic of Benin, Nicéphore Dieudonné Soglo appreciated the Egba Apex Monarch, noting that, it was a privilege for him to visit the Alake.

The former President of Benin Republic also extended his appreciation to God who preserved his life, through the assistance he received from the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, 27 years ago.

Speaking on Africa’s slavery, he recalled about the cruel ways the European treated humans they enslaved then, such as giving them a mark on their hands, stripped them naked, killed them and used their body part for artificial materials.

Speaking further, he added the white men, having discovered some mineral resources in India, killed every individual that tried to stay in their way, took over their land, noting that, they did the same in Africa, where they took many as slaves, and this had made him and the former President of Nigeria, Obasanjo kept fighting, in order to redeem the glory and well being of Africans.

He therefore reiterated that, they would keep fighting to ensure Africa heritage and tradition become known globally,  respected and ranked high on the international scale
