ABEOKUTA- The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, His Majesty, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo has advised Muslims to follow the Islamic injunction which directed the Ulama to see the election right leaders as a obligation.
In his Eid-il-Kabir message, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo noted that the General Elections were a few months away and Muslims as well as all Nigerians should obligatorily screen the people they want to elect as the right leaders who would fulfill their aspirations to better life.
The Alake said explained that it was an obligation that all eligible Egba indigenes and residents should ensure that they register and collect their voters’ cards from the INEC in their locality in order to vote and choose compassionate and visionary leaders in the next coming General Elections early next year.
In the same vein, the Egba Paramount Monarch disclosed that reports reaching his palace showed that people were experiencing difficulties in obtaining permanent voters cards and therefore urged the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, to increase the registration centres as well as extend the expiration of registration date to enable people exercise their rights to choose their leaders.
The Alake also commended the leadership of the Muslim Community for their support for Governor Ibikunle Amosun in the transformation of Egbaland as well as other parts of Ogun State, urging them to sustain their prayers for the Governor, who he described as very visionary, to successfully complete his tenure.
Oba Adedotun Gbadebo said the tenure of Senator Ibikunle Amosun had been very progressive in the growth and development of Egbaland and most secured in terms of life and property, praying that he would be succeeded by someone with the same kind of leadership style.
