The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland Has Advised Parents and Community Leaders to Take Education of The Girl Child All The Seriousness and Commitment It Deserves.

The Alake made the call while declaring open a training program on empowering girl child and rural women organized by Global Initiative Entrepreneurial and Capacity Development. Speaking through Aare Baaroyin of EGBALAND, Olootu Layi Labode, Oba Gbadebo noted with concern the rate at which young girls and rural women were been relighted in the background in social and economic activities in our society.
The Egba Monarch therefore advised the Egba Community leaders as well as the Local Government officers to change the outdated cultural believe that the role of women should be subservient and merely complementary.

Oba Gbadebo noted that if well taken care of quality education for the girl child and empowerment of rural women, will go a long way in adding great values to the sick Nigerian economy. This is because, according to the Egba Monarch, skills acquisition and entrepreneurial and capacity building has being organized by ICLED would lead to economic emancipation of the two groups. The Alake also appeals to the Local Government chairmen and the Politicians to be more involved and committed to this sector of economy for the long term benefits of our
people.
In our welcome address, the Chairman and founder of GLOBAL INITIATIVE FOR ENTREPRENEURIAL AND CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT AN ICLED NGO, Prof. Olajumoke Familoni, explained that the entrepreneur training and skill acquisition for the girl child especially for the drop out, was to give a renewed hope and better future for these less fortunate set of the Nigerian population. This is because it would take them out of ills of the society such as prostitutions, unwanted pregnancies, kidnapping and unproductive night prayers in churches and mosques in search of miracles for wealth.
As for rural women, Prof. Olajumoke Familoni, explains that these women are seating on goal minds as the raw materials they needed for packaging and exporting goods like Cassava, Cocoa and Maize products are readily available in their localities. They only needed to be trained on how to exploit the God given raw materials. The chairperson disclosed that the young girls and the rural women would be grouped along the line of agricultural product of raw materials available in their localities as cooperative units to achieve maximal yield.
She added that, a non government organization and training outfits are been supported financially by GlobalCom. unlimited and a New York (USA) based body. Successful trainees would be empowered financially and technically to go into small scale and seem-less manufacturing for both local consumption and export. Prof. Familoni also appeal to the Egba and other Nigeria

indigenes to partner with her organization in the social and economic massive patience of the girl child and rural women through entrepreneurial and skill acquisition training. The general manager of SweetFM, Olaitan Bakare, the resources fellow urge the participant from the 6 Egba Local Governments, to take the training serious as it would be a quicker avenue to getting them out of poverty, because it is aimed at creating wealth for them.
Chief Olanrewaju Bankole, the Adaranijo of EGBALAND while commending the vision of Prof. Familoni at eradicating poverty among young girls and rural women, disclosed that his proposed technical college for skills acquisition for the youth would go into collaboration and cooperation with International Center for leadership and entrepreneurship development to help the Egba youth especially the girl child and rural women.
The Bobagbero of EGBALAND, Prince Lanre Adebo, also pledged to support ICLED and Global Initiative in EGBALAND and elsewhere. Among persons and groups present in the exercise were, Abeokuta South, Abeokuta West, Abeokuta South-East, Obafemi Owode LCDA, Deaconess Mofoluke Soremikun Chairman Ilugun LCDA, Akindele Musiliu Chairman of Opeji LCDA, Ofada Mokoloki LCDA, Odeda LCDA and Ifesowapo LCDA.
