The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, has commended International Breweries PLC, Orile Imo, for keeping to its social responsibilities, as they affected the people of the area.
Oba Adedotun Gbadebo made the remark while receiving the Corporate Affairs Manager of the Company, Ms Stella Sawyerr, on Monday, 3rd of August, 2020, at the Ake Palace.
Oba Gbadebo noted with satisfaction, the 300KVA Mini- Power Station, installed by the company, the Covid19 Palliatives donated to the people, the bulldozing of rural roads in the area, rural electrification project, among others.
Oba Adedotun added that, such social activities would go a long way in creating favourable and friendly business environment that would be mutually beneficial to both the company and the Egba indigenes in Orile Imo environs.
The Egba Paramount Monarch however, urged that the Company should do more by implementing the local contents in its employment policy by engaging the indigenes from the locality in the management, medium and junior cadres.
Speaking earlier, the Corporate Affairs Manager of the Company, Ms Stella Sawyer, told the Alake that International Beweries PLC had been living up to its expectations through the provisions of infrastructures such as a 300KVA Mini Power station, accessible roads and others.
Ms Stella Sawyer disclosed that the Power Station of 300KVA was commissioned on Thursday, 30 July, 2020, to promote economic activities especially small scale industries on local content in employment.
Mrs Stella Sawyer explained that the company company would sooner than later begin the full implementation of system.
She also told the Alake that, the Obas, Baales and the generality of the people of the area have most cordial relationships with the company and its workers, adding that the International brewery would sustain such healthy family relationship with the people and communities in the area.
