Alake Commends The Ogun 35 Artillery Brigade For Stimulating The Long And Existing Peace In The Alamala Community And Its Neighbouring Communities


The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo has commended the Ogun 35 Artillery Brigade for stimulating the long and existing peace and cooperation between the Alamala Community and their Neighbouring Communities.

The Alake made this known, while receiving the New Commander of the Ogun 35 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier-General I. M. Aboullahi and his team at the Ake Palace on Thursday, 3rd of February, 2022.

Oba Gbadebo reconfirmed that, they had never heard of clash between the Alamala Community, where the Army Barrack was located and their neighbouring Communities from the very next door, Ijale Papa to Ijaye Titun, and down to Ilupeju Oke-Odo up to Sabo, adding that, the Military had ensured peaceful co-existence in the area, Egbaland, Ogun State and Nigeria.

The Egba Paramount Monarch noted with satisfaction that, Abeokuta had long been the home of the Nigerian Artillery adding that Abeokuta and Egbaland in general, had always been customarily and collectively, a best host for people, businesses, armed forces as well as the Ogun State Capital.

Speaking as a veteran, the Alake stated that, the Nigerian Military was a friendly and close entity to reckon with, noting that, it held the insurance of the country.

He reassured them of his promise to continue to support the welfare of officers and men of the 35 Artillery Brigade, adding that, His Royalty should be invited whenever the Brigade had a major function.

The Egba Apex Monarch added that, the Artillery Officers were always known to be smart, adding that, they were otherwise called Zulu Tango

He prayed that, the New Commander of the Artillery Brigade, would go higher to the rank of Commander in the Chief of Army Staff

Speaking earlier, the new Commander, Brigadier General I. M. Aboullahi, noted that, he had come to pay a courtesy visit to the Egba Apex Monarch to seek his blessings in the discharge of his duties.

He disclosed that, he took the Command of the Brigade on the 10th of December, 2021,

Brigadier Aboullahi recalled his first visit to the Ake Palace, which was in 2003, when he was a young Officer, and in 2018 to 2020, when he was a Chief of Staff to one of the illustrious son of Egbaland, Major General O. O. Olutunde.

He noted that, when he was with the Late General, the Palace was their second home.

He recalled that, on several occasions, when they had the seat for West Council, the Late General Olutunde would bring him to the Egba Ancient Palace and the Alake would give them advice

The New Commander added that, every piece of advice, the Egba Apex Monarch gave them then, were utilised and it paid off.

He also thanked Oba Gbadebo for the reception, they had accorded them, regarding their visit to the Ake Palace

The Brigadier-General reiterated that, every activity of the 35 Artillery Brigade in the State, had always have the Alake’s support

He however reassured the Egba Paramount Ruler, noting that, his Brigade Team would provide the necessary support to ensuring the peace and security of the State.

Other Artillery Brigade Officers that were present Included: Col D. M. Baba, Major I. M. Sulaiman, Major S. D. Ishaya, Major A. U. Aminu, Major H. T. Tagwai

Egba Chiefs present included: Osi of Egbaland: Chief Bode Mustapha, Bantun of Egbaland: Chief Kehinde Sofenwa, Baaroyin of Egbaland: Chief Layi Labode

Traditional Rulers, whose domains were in the neighborhood of the 35 Artillery Brigade, Alamala, Abeokuta, and present at the occasion, were Onijale of Ijale Papa, Oba Michael Aderounmu Babalola; Onijaye of Ijaye Titun, Oba Nofiu Otunba and Olu Oke-Odo Ilupeju.
