ALAKE CONCEDES FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC, ILARO’S HONOUR TO M.K.O. ABIOLA.

The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, is honour MKO Abiola by naming a befitting structure after him at the Institution.

This was disclosed at the Ake Palace by its Chairman of Council of Professor Abubakar Sadauki.

Professor Sadauki had led members of the Council and Management of the Polytechnic to pay the Alake a courtesy visit and invite the Egba Monarch to the Institution’s convocation, coming up on soon.

The Council Chairman also revealed to the Alake that the Institution had concluded plan to name a befitting structure after the Alake or MKO Abiola, noting that Egba had a very rich history in leadership in many areas human endeavours which every Nigerian must acknowledge.

He said the history would continue to do justice to the memory of MKO Abiola and Egba people who had served the nation meritoriously.

Professor Sadauki commended the Alake for his exemplary leadership, recalling that he had very good relationship with President Buhari in his military days.

He pleaded with the Alake to personally attend the nest convocation, which he promised would not last longer than two hours.

In his response, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo appreciated Council and Management of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, for consistently producing graduates that are best suited for the economic growth and development of Nigeria.

He said that Institution should be supported by every Nigerian as a veritable citadel of practical knowledge.

Oba Adedotun Gbadebo said he would concede that the honour structure of Polytechnic, Ilaro, be named after MKO Abiola, who he said was his senior at the Baptist Boys High School and had done a lot for Nigeria.

On his relationship with Buhari, the Alake said his former Boss as a Military Head of State, hated anything fraudulent, morally and materially.

He promised to be personally present at Ilaro for the Convocation next week.

Giving the vote of thanks, the Registrar, Mrs A.F. Osore, said the Polytechnic was the most sought after among its kind in Nigeria. She disclosed that the Rector of the

Institution, Dr (Arc)O. O. Aluko, was recently honoured as Best Polytechnic Administrator in Nigeria by the National Regulatory Body, adding that the Institution held the Alake in highest esteem for his proverbial openness and integrity.

Other Institution’s members of Council were C. A. Enzegbuna, Olusegun Oshidipe Garvey Yaweh , Dr Banjo Ogunbiyi Alhaji Atto Garba, Dr Tate Obateru, Mr. Tokunbo Rufai, Mr. C. I. Chima and Mr. Olusola Lawal.

Those of Management were Mrs A.F. Osore, Registrar; Mr. O. O. Ajibode, Bursar; Pastor Femi Bankole, P. A. to the Rector; Mr. Sola Abiola, P.R.O.
