The new Executive of the Abeokuta Sports Club paid a courtesy visit to the Life Patron of the Club, His Majesty, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo on Thursday.
The Club was led by its new President, Lion Bolarinwa Atilade.
Speaking at the Ake Palace, Lion Bolarinwa Atilade told the Alake that the Club had come to pay its first Courtesy Visit its Life Patron the Alake.
President Atilade disclosed that the Club currently had more than 2,500 members and 14 Sections, 9 of which were Sporting, and 6 Socials.
He further disclosed that the Club had also on the verge of finishing its swimming pool within the first 6months of his administration.
Lion Bolarinwa Atilade expressed the Club’s gratitude to the Alake for the Monarch’s invaluable Royal support for the foremost Club.
Responding, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo advised the Club to be honest inits leadership of the Club by offering selfless service to Club members rather than live on the Club.
The Alake explained that clubbing was more than ephemeral winning and dinning.
Rather, according to the Alake, it was for the uplifting of one another.
Oba Adedotun Gbadebo therefore admonished the members to engaged in mutually beneficial networking for the members.
He prayed that the Club would would grow from strength to strength.
