Alake Extols Abraham Shoyoye, As He Becomes Akogun Egba


The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, has described the new Akogun Egba, High Chief Abraham Adisa Adebayo, as a thorough bred and committed Egba Patriot.

The Alake who was installing Chief Adebayo Shoyoye as the new Akogun of Egbaland on Saturday, 25th September, 2021, noted with satisfaction that he was personally happy that Chief Shoyoye, the Balogun Ilawo, and Bashorun Oke-Ona, had all it takes to occupy the position of the Akogun as well as perform maximally.

The Egba Paramount Ruler also recalled that the new Akogun had demonstrated entrepreneurship by engaging himself profitably in few businesses.

The Alake therefore urged Chief Adebayo Shoyoye to sustain and even improve on his compassionate entrepreneurial value and love for Egbaland and its people by joining hands with Egba compatriots to make Egba Greater.

Oba Adedotun Gbadebo while installing the Lisa of Egbaland, Chief Ayinla Olaogun, said he must be of clean heart as he discharges his responsibilities.

Alake further charged him to use his position to bring more people to Egba, as well as contribute to the greater development of the nation.

Speaking also, the Osile of Oke, Oba Adedapo Tejuoso congratulated Chief Abraham Adebayo Shoyoye for being steadfast and working assiduously to earn the position of the Akogun.

Oba Tejuoso also said that the Title of Akogun was not just thrown on Chief Shoyoye, the Oke-Ona Monarch confirmed that Chief Shoyoye actually merited it.

The Oke-Ona Monarch further urged that Chief Shoyoye to use the position for the benefit of his people in Oke-Ona and Egbaland.

In his remarks, the Olota of Ota, Oba Lanlege congratulated Alake, Osile and the entire Egba larger Community for the choice of Chief Abraham Shoyoye as the Akogun of Egbaland

Oba Lanlege noted that the pedigree of the Akogun showed abundance experience and exposure for excellent virtues, good community leadership.

Other Egba Obas at the ceremony were the Agura of Gbagura, Oba Suburee Babajide Bakre, and Olu Odeda.

Egba Women Chief present at the occasion included Iyalode Alaba Lawson, Iyaloja Kemi Oloyede, GbagbaAje Tejumade Bakre, Seriki Iyaloja Modupe Labode, Seriki Iyalate, Veronica Atobatele, and others
