The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, has praised Egba’s sons and daughters for their consistency and commitment to add value to the Egba nation.
The Alake reassured those who have demonstrated clear commitment and protection of the Egba nation would be recognized and honored regardless of their social status.
Oba Adedotun Gbadebo remarked on Saturday during the installations of the new Bada and Erelu Bada of Egbaland, Chief (Dr) Olufemi and Chief (Dr. Mrs) Deke Majekodunmi.
The monarch described Dr Olufemi Majekodunmi as a pride to the Egba nation in many fields of human endeavours.
The Alake further disclosed that the Egba Nation had been watching the exploits of Dr Olufemi Majekodunmi since his medical academic years at the University of Ibadan as a Federal Scholar and students leader up to his meteoric rise in the business, medical profession, and politics, among others.
According to him, Majekodunmi had always been a worthy ambassador of Egbaland, saying
himself and the entire good people of Egbaland are proud of the new Bada of Egbaland and urged him never to relent in making Egba people and humanity proud.
The Egba apex Monarch recalled that the new Bada had become, not only a veteran businessman and politician but also an astute and consummate Chairman and member of the government and private sector boards and businesses.
Oba Adedotun Gbadebo while congratulating the Bada and his Erelu, implored them to use their wealth of experience to promote the growth and development of Egbaland.
In his message to the new Bada of Egbaland, the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, described Dr Olufemi Majekodunmi’s statutory investiture as a recognition of his service and commitment to the course of his people.
Governor Abiodun seized the occasion to thank and appreciate Dr Majekodunmi for his invaluable contributions to his successful assumption of office.
He advised the new Bada to see the new title as a call to a higher duty.
Responding on behalf of himself and his wife, Erelu Bada, Dr. (Chief Mrs) Deke Majekodunmi, the new Bada of Egbaland, Chief (Dr) Olufemi Majekodunmi, said he was ever ready to collaborate and cooperate with the Alake in taking the Egba nation and its people to the next level through deliberate coordination.
He commended the Egba Paramount Monarch’s leadership prowess as momentous and historic since coming to the throne more than 15 years ago.
Chief Olufemi Majekodunmi reassured the Alake and Egba people that he would never disappoint the Egba Nation.
Among top government functionaries and high profile Egba indigenes that witnessed the epoch-making occasion are Balogun Sikirullah Atobatele, Iyalode Alaba Lawson, Seriki Tosin Fadare, Aare Ganiu Babayeju, Aro, Egba Yinka Kufiile, Odofin Egba, Akintoye, Sobaloju Kayode Amusan.
Others are Oba Onijale Papa, Oba Adebayo of Taafin, Chief Chris Olufunmilolà Okunowo, Baamolu Egba, and Amona Baaroyin Tajudeen Oladeinde.
