A new and substantive Iyaloja of Egbaland is to be installed tomorrow, Saturday, December 26, 2020, at the Ake Palace by the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, Okukenu IV, at 11 o’clock in the morning.
She is Chief Mrs Oluwakemi Abeke Oloyede, who was, until her formal approval and receipt of Alake’s letter, the Otun Iyaloja for more than 14 years.
Chief (Mrs) Oluwakemi Oloyede succeeded late Alhaja Iyaniwura, Chief (Mrs) Aishat Ebunoluwa.
Two other market leaders, Chief (Mrs) Janet Gbadebo and Chief (Mrs) Bamidele Adebowale would also be installed by the Alake alongside Iyaloja Kemi Oloyede, the new helms-woman of all the markets in the Egba six Local Governments of Ogun State.
Meanwhile, a member of the Egba Chieftaincy Committee, Chief Kehinde Sofenwa, told the Newsflagship Online Newspaper that the Alake had directed that there would be strict compliance with the Ogun State Government directives on Safety Protocols on COVID 19.
Chief Kehinde Sofenwa therefore advised that anyone without face masks would not be admitted into the venue, which had already been arranged in staggered seats for the few invited and selected stakeholder guests.
The Bantun of Egbaland appealed for the maximum cooperation of every guest for a successful installation exercise.
Still on the installation of the New Iyaloja of Egbaland, the President of the Egba Diamond Sisters and the Gbegbaaje of Egbaland Chief Mrs Tejumade Adenekan-Bakre, has called on the New Iyaloja, Chief Kemi Oloyede, to sustain her quality leadership, with which she had been managing the affairs of Egba Markets, even when she was second in command.
Chief Mrs Tejumade Adenekan-Bakre noted with satisfaction that, the new helms woman of Egba Markets had always been noted for her equity, compassion, Egba patriotism, humility and fairness in all activities with the high and low.
The Diamond Sisters President expressed with optimism that the time and leadership of Chief Kemi Oloyede, would take the micro economic activities of Egbaland to greater heights.
Chief (Mrs) Teju Adenekan Bakre also hailed and appreciated the Alake for his approval of the new Iyaloja, describing the exercise as one of the best royal decisions in Egba History.
She also called on all Egba Markets Stakeholders to give total support to Chief Kemi Oloyede for the mutual benefits of all and Egbaland as a whole.
