Abeokuta-The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, His Majesty Oba Adedotun Gbadebo today formally crowned six of the newly appointed Coronet Obas at the Ake Palace.
The six coronet monarchs were among the first batch to be officially crowned by the Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo.
Others newly approved Obas, would have their turn on days to be approved later by the Alake.
Speaking at the ceremony Oba Adedotun Gbadebo enjoined the new Obas to be the Servant-Leaders of their communities instead their oppressors, who would be unnecessarily harassing them.
The Alake also warned them against land grabbing and appropriating other people’s property, in whatever form.
The Egba Paramount Monarch congratulated them for being singled out and honoured as the leaders of their communities, adding that they should see this as a call to service to their people and Egbaland.
Among the newly crowned Obas was an Accounting and Business Guru, Oba Moshood Ola Yusuf, the Sultan of Owu and Ekerin Egba Muslims,
Oba M. Ola Yusuf, who was crowned as the Olu of Eleyele I, speaking at the occasion, pledged the loyalty and cooperation of the new Obas to the Alake, their communities, and Egbaland in general.
Oba M. Ola Yusuf added that the new Obas would work hard to uplift their living conditions in their various communities.
Other Obas installed included Oba Adetunji, the Olu of Ikopa; Oba Adebayo, Olu Orile Itafin; Oba Sanusi, Olu Alabata; and Olu Magboro/Akeran.
Many Egba Obas and High Chiefs present at the occasion, included, Olu of Iro, Olu Itori, Olu Owode, Olu Ijaye-Titun, Olu Oke-Odo Ilupeju, Olu Owode Egba, Olu Mokoloki and Olu Obada-Oko.
Egba High Chiefs the graced the occasion were Balogun Sikirullah Atobatele, Aare Ganiyu Babayeju, Asiwaju Maxwell Ayinla, Baagbimo Akanni Akinwale, Bantun Kehinde Sofenwa, Ogun Iyaloja Oloyede and Aare Baaroyin Layi Labode.
