Alake Lauds Ajayi’s Giant Strides At FCE, Osiele


…Seeks Sustenance Of Monentum

The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo
has described the outgoing Provost of the Federal College of Education (FCE), Osiele, Abeokuta, Dr Ayodele Adetayo Ajayi as a most diligent academic and seasoned administrator.

Oba Gbadebo made the remarks during the commissioning of the Oracle Building named after the immediate past Provost, Dr Ayodele Adetayo Ajayi.

The Alake noted that the two-term Provost was able to commission an average of eight projects per annum, totalling 40 for his 8 years of leadership of the Federal College of Education, Osiele, Abeokuta.

The Egba Apex Monarch said that Dr Ajayi provided an all round purposeful leadership during his eight year tenure, saying his legacy would be enduring.

Oba Adedotun Gbadebo also called on the Acting Provost, Dr R.A Soleye, the Management, staff and students to continue to build on the solid foundation laid by Dr Ajayi in both academic and administrative leadership of the college.

The Alake prayed that FCE Osiele would enjoy a sustainable continuity in academic growth and development.

In his welcome address, the Acting Provost, Dr. R A Soyele, described the outgoing Provost as a visionary leader who added values to the theory of “Town and Gown” within the FCE Campus and Osiele, Abeokuta, communities.

Dr. Soyele disclosed that Dr Ajayi, ensured that the FCE Tripod, the Academic and Non-Academic and Students, enjoyed welfare packages during his 8years leadership.

Besides, he disclosed further that the Institution never lost any academic session due any internal problem, adding that Adedayo Ajayi was a consistent, compassionate and consummate leader for all seasons.

Also speaking at the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Professor Felix Salako described Dr Ajayi as a most cooperative and compassionate Federal Chief Executive.

Dr Felix Salako disclosed that the FCE outgoing Provost facilitated the internal administration of FUNAAB by giving out a sizeable portion of FCE land for the building of a most functional Bus Stop for FUNAAB students at the Camp end of the two sister Federal educational institutions.

The VC, therefore, charged other staff of the 47-old-college to emulate the outgoing Provost, adding that the momentum of success must be sustained for both staff and host communities.

In his response, the outgoing Provost, Dr Ajayi, appreciated the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, all the Egba Traditional Rulers in Osiele area of Egbaland as well as neighbouring Federal
and State institutions in the area for making his work easy, enjoyable and most rewarding.

He disclosed that the Alake and Egba people were totally cooperative in any aspect that would ensure mutual peaceful coexistence.

He expressed total appreciation to his Management, especially the Acting Provost, Dr Soleye as well as all academic and non- academic staff and students for standing by him during his 8 years of FCE leadership.
He prayed that there would be a continuation of the family relationship that existed among the generality of people at the FCE Osiele.

Egba Traditional Rulers and High chiefs present at the occasion included the Agura of Gbagura, Oba Saburee Babajide Bakre; the Olu of Osiele, Odofin Egba Kola Akintoye, Baagbimo Akanni Akinwale, Bantun Kehinde Sofenwa, Bada Asoju-Oba Odekunle, Balogun Aroyewun, and Baaroyin, Layi Labode.
