ALAKE LAUDS EGBA DIAMONDS SISTERS FOR THEIR EARLY ACHIEVEMENTS AS THEY CELEBRATE FIRST ANNIVERSARY

The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, CFR, Okukenu IV, has commended the Egba Socio-Cultural Women Group, known as Egba Diamond Sisters, Home and Abroad, for their unity, love, and desire towards the development of Egbaland.

Oba Adedotun Gbadebo made the commendation while speaking during the occasion of the Group’s First Anniversary and commissioning of a new Toilet Facility at the Ake Palace, Abeokuta, on Friday, April 9, 2021.

The Egba Paramount Monarch also noted that the Egba Diamond Sisters, Home and Abroad, had been working towards improving peaceful coexistence and love among Egbas.

Alake further encouraged the Group to continue their good works and always assist one another.

The Alake also announced the donation of #1million Naira on behalf of himself and the Egba Chiefs present.

Speaking also, the Agura of Gbagura, Oba Babajide Bakre, expressed joy and happiness towards the Egba Socio-cultural Women Group, adding that he is overwhelmed by merely seeing the love and support among them.

Oba Bakre further enjoins the Egba Women Group to continue to support one another in love and unity towards the overall growth of Egbaland.

The President of the Egba Diamond Sisters, Chief (Mrs) Tejumade Bakre, while delivering her speech, noted that the Alake of Egbaland had always been of huge support to them since inception and had never stopped being a father to them.

Chief (Mrs) Bakre also appreciated the unity of the members of the Group both at home and in diaspora, adding that their special commitments had made it possible for their accomplishments.

The President further disclosed that the Standard Toilet Facility project, which was commissioned earlier that day, was just the beginning of the numerous developmental achievements of the Group.

The Iyalode of Egbaland, Chief (Mrs) Alaba Lawson, when speaking, called for more unity among the group, adding that love and togetherness should reign among them.

The Asiwaju Babalaje of Egbaland, Chief OgoOluwa Bankole, also sent cash support for the Diamond Sisters Project.

The leadership of the Egba Diamond Sisters present at the occasion included the Vice President of the Group; Chief (Mrs) Kudrat Awopeju, Chief (Mrs) Ejide Adeyanju (Shokopau), the Iyaloja General of Osogbo-Isolo, Iyalode of the Group; Chief (Mrs) Aolat Famuyiwa (Ben-Cash), Chief (Mrs) Modupe Labode, the Group’s Secretary.

Other Egba Monarchs present at the Egba Diamond Sisters Anniversary included, the Agura of Gbaguraland, Oba Sabur Babajide Bakre, and the Olu of Siun, Oba Lawrence Odeyinka.

Among Egba High Chiefs present at the occasion were Balogun of Egbaland and the Patron of Diamond Sisters, High Chief Sikirullah Atobatele, the Osi, Chief Olabode Mustapha; the Bada, Dr Femi Majekodunmi, the Baagbimo, Chief Akanni Akinwale, the Bantun, Chief Kehinde Sofenwa, the Eruku, Chief Sam Lawon and the Aare Baaroyin, Chief Layi Labode.

Other prominent Egbas that witnessed the occasion are; Olori Bakre, Iyalode of Egbaland, Chief (Mrs) Kemi Oloyede, Chief (Mrs) Veronica Atobatele, to mention a few.
