” Alake Promotes Peace, Projects For Posterity At The FMC, Abeokuta.” Says the Association of Resident Doctors.


President of the Association of Resident Doctors, FMC, Abeokuta, Dr Victor Adeniyi, has appreciated the inputs of the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo to the rapid growth of the Centre.

Dr Adeniyi, who was speaking at the Ake Palace during the Association ‘s Courtesy Visit, told the Alake that the Current Batch of 156 Resident Doctors at the FMC, was fully aware of the efforts of the Egba Grand Monarch in putting the FMC on the National Map of “A Best Medical Tertiary Institution.”

The Group’s President noted with satisfaction that he was personally present at the National Assembly’s Public Hearing on the Establishment of the Federal University of Medical Sciences, Abeokuta and was very excited about the fantastic Presentation of the Alake’s Memorandum on the subject as well as the Royal Follow ups.

Dr Adeniyi also sought Alake’s Royaly assistance for land and materials for expansion of Emergency Services, Reconnection of pipes, dislocated at Baptist Girls College, Idiaba, carrying water to the FMC, land to build houses close to the FMC, among other facilities to add value to services at the hospital.

He appealed to the Alake to affect the Government and Medical Authorities to stem the Brain Drain of Medical personnel.


The Association’s President also disclosed that the Group was quite satisfied with the professional and administrative competence and leadership of the FMC Medical Director, Professor Adewale Musa Olomu.

He explained that the Medical Director had caused the Centre to be giving the best to its catchment areas’ patients in quality medical services urging him not to relent or be distracted.

He announced to the Alake that their AGM would be coming up the following week adding that
the theme would be on “Emergency Treatment: Providing Adequate Facilities ”

Resident Doctors present at the occasion included: Dr. Charles Etagar; Member, Dr. Adebayo Oludolarmu; Welfare Secretary, Dr. Odefeso; Financial Secretary, Dr. Jimoh; Ex-officio, Dr. Osundara; General Secretary, Dr. Micheal Ajibola; Vice President, Dr. Victor Adebiyi; President.

Egba Chiefs present at the occasion were Balogun Sikirullah Atobatele, Os,i Bode Mustapha, Sarumi, M. Ola Yusuf , Baagbimo, Alanni Akimwale, Bantun Kehinde Sofenwa, Bobagunwa Toye okanlawi, Amona Baaroyin Tajudeen Oladeinde and Aare Baaroyin Layi Labode.
