The Oluwo Ake and Chairman of Alake Regency Committee, Chief Samuel Tanimowo, has described the rivalry between Pharmacists and Doctors as unnecessary.
Chief Tanimowo gave the opinion while welcoming the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN), during a courtesy visit at the Ake Palace on Monday 30 August 2021.
The Alake Regency Committee Chairman, Chief Samuel Tanimowo, therefore called for synergy between Pharmacists and Doctors in Nigeria.
Chief Tanimowo pointed out that the two Professions were complementary to each other and they should not give room for rivalry.
He gave the example that, only the Pharmacists could professionally decipher written drugs prescriptions by Doctors to patients, adding that Pharmacists would also supply alternative drugs if some particular drugs were not available, in consultation with the Doctors.
He therefore said cordial relationship should exist between the two professions.

He further prayed for the success of the programme and the development of ACPN.
