Abeokuta-The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, has assured the recently appointed Coronet Obas approved by the last Ogun State Administration, and whose appointments had since been put on hold by the new, to be patient while action was being taken on their individual cases.
Addressing ten of such Obas, who paid him a courtesy visit, at the Ake Palace today Thursday, 13 June, 2019, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo informed them that the new government had put in place a panel to look into their appointments with a view to streamlining the exercise.
The Egba Paramount Monarch explained that the new administration had good intention about the issue of Chieftaincy in the State and that was why every Division was represented in the Committee it set up to look into the appointments.
On the alleged complaint of harassment of one the affected by the Omala of Imala, the Alake informed the Coronet Oba, that Omala did not have any role whatsoever in appointment or otherwise of any Oba in Egbaland adding that Omala’s interference in current traditional issue was superfluous and unnecessary.
The Alake enjoined the affected Obas to continue to comport themselves in words and action while the reprocessing of their appointments was ongoing.
Oba Adedotun Gbadebo commended the government for setting up an all-inclusive panel in which the interests of all the four Divisions of Ogun State were fully represented.
Alake told them that the Government would soon make pronouncements on their status.
