The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo has urged Fuji Musicians Association of Nigeria, FUMAN, to create more inspirational and motivational songs.
Oba Gbadebo disclosed this, while accepting an invitation to becoming the Grand Patron of Fuji Musician Association of Nigeria, Ogun State Chapter on Friday, 8 July, 2022.
He told the Association that, Music was a form of art, that corrected bad character and helped people to be better persons.
The Egba Apex Monarch urged the association to use music to cleanse the society, adding that, music was made for pleasure and more importantly to express emotions.
Speaking further, the Alake reiterated that, important things in the society, for example, insecurity was very common in the society nowadays, prison being attacked, prisoners being freed, kidnapping, looting and so on, which by more inspirational music, it would make people think twice before making a wrong decision.
He prayed that, God would continue to give them wisdom, knowledge and understanding to make more music that would make the nation great.
Oba Gbadebo therefore appreciated them for making him the Grand Patron of Fuji Musician Association of Nigeria.
Speaking earlier, the Governor, FUMAN, Ogun Chapter, Mr. Ganiu Omolaja informed Oba Gbadebo of their program coming up, titled “The Summit under Alhaji Ayinde Wasiu and Shefiu Alao.”
Mr Omolaja said with hope, that Fuji Musicians would now have more influence and be more recognized in the community, now that, they have a top eminent person as their Grand Patron.
He further stated that, they wanted to let people be aware that, Fuji Musicians existed in Ogun State, adding that, they had also been scouting for more young, experienced and talented Fuji Musicians.
In an interview with Newsflagship Correspondent, the Chairman and Organizing Secretary of FUMAN, Ogun State Chapter, Mr. Fatai Okikiola Arowora PKA (Mr. Packaging), expressed his pleasure of making Oba Gbadebo their Grand Patron.
Mr packaging explained further that, the whole FUMAN was so happy that, Oba Gbadebo accepted the position, noting that, when reports were being given to their mentors, ‘Alhaji Shefiu Alao’ and Alhaji ‘Ayinde Wasiu,’ they would be very happy.
Mr Arowora disclosed that, the society unlike before, thought, Fuji Musicians were lowlife individuals, but they had decided to let people know the job, they were doing was not a dirty or illegal job.
He said this, had made them to install powerful and eminent people as their patron to change peoples impression about them, besides Oba Gbadebo had been their father, mentor and had lay a good example for them, which they had learnt so much from.
Members of the association that were present at the occasion were; deputy governor, Saidi Ololade, General Secretary Lanre Musida, Organizing Secretary, Fatai Okikiola Arowora, P.R.O Musibau Idowu Olando.
Others included; Musiliu Alayo representing Ijoko, Lesile Bode representing Owode Egba, Akeem Okiki representing Ifo Local Government, Assistance Secretary Alhaja Adiat Badru representing Abeokuta South Local Government, Moruf Adio representing Abeokuta North.
