ALAKE URGES IYALODE AND OTHER EGBA WOMEN LEADERS TO EMULATE IYALODE TINUBU, TEJUOSO, AND OTHERS

The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, has called on Egba Women to emulate the great Iyalodes of Egbaland who had paid their dues towards the development of Egbaland.

According to the Egba Grand Monarch, the great women and iconic leaders were Iyalode Tinubu, Iyalode Bisoye Tejuoso, and Iyalode Alaba Lawson; the current Iyalode of Egbaland. 

Oba Gbadebo made the call while welcoming the Egba Women leaders to their monthly meeting holding at Ake Palace on Thursday, July 16, 2020.

The Alake noted that the Egba Women leaders complimented the prime position of Egba leadership in Nigeria’s nationhood as exampled by Iyalode Tinubuola, a great woman business tycoon and warrior in the financing and Defense of Egbaland; Iyalode Bisoye Tejuoso, and Iyalode Alaba Lawson.

Speaking earlier, the Iyalode of Egbaland, Chief (Mrs) Alaba Lawson, disclosed that the Corona Virus pandemic has negatively impacted some businesses and the economy of the nation in general, but the women have cooperated with one another in unity towards performing their vital roles in their homes and in the society at large.

Chief (Mrs) Alaba Lawson also pledged that the Egba Women leaders would always support the Alake in the developmental affairs of Egbaland.

She further prayed that greater things would be achieved through joint efforts with the Alake, who revealed that Coronavirus has both positive and negative impacts on the economy, urging that everybody’s focus should be on the former, until the stranger virus finally leaves.

The Egba Women Leaders present at the Ake Palace included, Chief (Mrs) Alaba Lawson, the Iyalode of Egbaland; Chief (Mrs) Tejumade Bakre, the GbegbaAje of Egbaland; Chief (Mrs) Bolanle Amusa, the Seriki iyaloja; Chief (Mrs) Bola Ayorinde, the Otun Lika Aje of Egbaland; Chief (Mrs) Veronica Atobatele, the Seriki Iyalate of Egbaland; Chief Mrs Aminat Adelekan, the Erelu Baamowe of Egbaland; Chief Mrs Modupe Labode, the Seriki Iyaloja of Egbaland; and the Asiwaju Iya Abiye of Egbaland.
