The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo has urged Muslims to sustain the gains of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
According to the Egba Monarch, these included faith, piety, true forgiveness, compassion, mutual love, understanding and care for the poor.
In his Sallah message, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo said that the recent events happening in Nigeria which to a large extent, concerned Egbaland and our illustrious son, Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, had abundantly showed that a people could only move forward in happiness and prosperity if there was justice, fair play, remorse and true forgiveness.
Oba Adedotun Gbadebo noted with satisfaction that the President and Commander in Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari had demonstrated cardinal injunctions of Ramadan by publicly apologizing for the corporate injustice of a quarter of century and restoring the honor and respect due to one of our own, MKO Abiola, the Winner of 1993 Presidential Election.
He therefore seized the occasion of Sallah to again appreciated President Buhari for his courage, integrity and sense of justice in his bold attempt to heal the social wounds created by the annulment of MKO Abiola’s mandate, freely given him by Nigerians as well as the highest national honor of GCFR.
The Alake thanked the Muslim Leadership and the Jammah in Egbaland and Ogun State in general for their active support and promotion of peaceful an conducive atmosphere for the ongoing peace, progress and prosperity of Egbaland and Ogun State under the visionary and missionary guidance of Senator Ibikunle Amosun.
The Egba Paramount Monarch called for sustained prayers for Senator Ibikunle Amosun for fulfillment of promises and even doing more than we thought adding that they should pray for many more of Senator Ibikunle Amosun in the next and future dispensations.
He congratulated all Egba at home abroad for being part of this year’s Sallah, wishing them happier and more prosperous of same occasions in future.
