The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, has expressed concern over growing and sharp differences among Egba Muslim faithfuls.
Oba Gbadebo made his worry known to the leadership of the Egba Muslims Organization, EMO, the Apex Body of all Egba Muslims, which paid him the traditional Sallah Homage at the Ake Palace on Eid Kabir day, Saturday 9 July 2022.
The Alake said it was as a result of the seemingly irreconcilable differences between the Clerics and Muslims Chiefs that was responsible for the unnecessary and sad cancellation of the Annual All Egba Fiesta, the Ariya Day for this year.
The Egba Apex Monarch passionately appealed to all stakeholders to bury their hatchets and remember the interest of the followers and Ummah by closing ranks and solve all disputes through examples of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, who exuded tolerance, understanding, Tolerance and humility.
Also speaking on the the current insecured situation in the country, the Alake called for fervent prayers for cohesion and unity to bring back full peace and prosperity to Nigeria.
Earlier in his address the BabaAdeen of Egbaland, Navy Captain Rasheed Raji, prayed for the prosperity of Egbaland, calling for peace and love among Egba Muslims and Egbaland as a whole.
BabaAdeen Rasheed Raji also appealed to Parents to take care of children, steering them away from Cultism and other vices.
The Alfa Tafsir Egba Sheikh Amolegbe, in his Sermon expressed worry about the current situation in the country.
The Alfa Tafsir Amolegbe argued that Nigeria’s situation was beyond the nation’s comprehension, linking same to the predictions of the “End Times” in the Holy Scriptures.
Amolegbe said that the solution was to pray to Allah for good people to be counted among those that would be eventually favoured and saved.
Egba Muslim Leadership at the occasion included Egba Chief Imam Sheikh Sa’ad Bamigbola, Imams of Oke-Ona, Gbagura, Owu and Olori Ratibi
Others were Seriki Abdul-Lateef Abiola, Bada Sherrif Ogunrinde Akogun Ismaila Odejimi, and the Chairman of the Ariya Odun Committee, and Abuiraini of Egbaland, Alhaji (Chief) Jimoh Popoola (J. A. Poison) .
