ALAKE’S 15TH CORONATION: OBA GBADEBO’S REIGN IS MOST REWARDING – GOV ABIODUN

The week long activities marking the 15th Coronation Anniversary of Alake was rounded off on Saturday 22 November, 2020 with the conferment of Chieftaincy titles on six couples and four individuals.

The Chieftaincy honorees included Chief Samuel Okanlawon Oso and wife as the Eruku and Erelu Eruku; Chief Jide Taiwo and wife, Adeyinka as Bagbaje and Erelu Bagbaje; Chief Saheed Lawal and Spouse, Olasumbo as Osi Bobagunwa and Erelu Bobogunwa; Chief Adebowale Sodipo and wife, Adekunbi, as Bobamuluro and Erelu Bobamuluro; Chief Adebayo Sodade and partner, O O. Rotomi as Aare Onigeg Tayese while the wife bagged Erelu Aare Onigege Tayese.

Individuals Honorees were Chief (Mrs) Sikirat Ejide Adeyanju alias Shokopao, Aare Iyalode Egba; Chief Adesina Idowu Adegoke as Aare Olotu; Chief (Mrs) Taofeeka Afolabi as Otun Iyalode Egba.

In her speech, the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engineer Noimot Salako-Oyedele, speaking on behalf of the Governor, noted that Oba Gbadebo’s reign in Egbaland, was most rewarding, in terms of cooperation and support with the Governments.

The Deputy Governor disclosed that Prince Dapo Abiodun’s administration derived and drank from the depths of Alake’s wisdom, fairness and equity.

She prayed that, just as she was at the 14th last year and there at the15th, she would be present to celebrate 16th with the Alake next year.

In his remarks, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, congratulated the new Chiefs, reminding them of additional responsibilities of being their brothers’ keepers and defending the cause of Egbaland all the time.

Oba Adedotun Gbadebo urged them to be excellent ambassadors of Egbaland whether at home or in diaspora.

The installation of new Chiefs was witnessed by many within and outside Nigeria.

The Oni of Ife sent a two-man delegation while many members of the Egba Traditional Council were fully represented.

Some Egba Monarchs at the occasion included Olu Itori, Oba AbdulFatai Akamo; Olu Owode, Oba Sowemo; Onijale Papa, Oniro of Iro; Onijaye Titun, Oba Otunba and others.

The Balogun of Egbaland, High Chief Sikirullah Atobatele, alongside all other Egba Chiefs were also present at the occasion.
