Many Egba Groups started paying homage to Oba Adedotun Gbadebo at the Ake Palace today as early as 7am.
Among the early arrivals to pay congratulatory Homage to the Egba Grand Monarch were Egba market women and men, led by the Iyaloja of Egbaland, Chief (Mrs) Kemi Oloyede.
Other groups were Abeokuta Descendants Union of Nigeria (ADUN), as well as Ijaye and Olorunsogo Communities.
The Group of Egba market women and men which arrived at the Palace before any other one, came in to the palace with pump and pea-gantry, singing, drumming and dancing in their two brands uniforms.
Addressing the market women, the Alake and paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo told them that he was very proud of them for being the part and parcel of the Egba growth and development
Oba Gbadebo noted that for the past few years, there had been peace, progress and prosperity in Egbaland markets.
Alake stated that the Egba market women and men had been the strong hold of Egba’s flourishing economy, adding that their unified contributions to the development of Egba markets has made Egba strong economically.
Alake also disclosed that the market women and men were doing well and urging them to continue with their good work.
