The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, in a press release issued on Friday, has described the ongoing corona virus pandemic as an act of God and a stranger, that would soon be over and finally go away forever.
In his Sallah message to the Muslims and others, the Alake said that he fully understood the difficulties being experienced by Muslims and people of other faiths during this corona virus lockdown and therefore identified and empathise with them.
The Egba Paramount Monarch noted that Muslim Faithfuls had strived to uphold Holy Prophet tenets of Peace, Forgiveness, Tolerances, Sharing, Humility and should therefore sustain all the gains of the Holy Ramadan as their normal way of life.
The Alake urged them to take solace in the fact that the authorities were on top of the situation, adding that, as an act of God a quicker solution lied both in fervent prayers alongside total observance and respect for all hygienic directives by the Government and Health Authorities.
He urged Muslims not to leave for a moment, either hygienic instructions for prayers or vice versa but to religiously adhere to sanitary and preventive healthy habit directives, such as washing of hands with soap or an alcohol based hand sanitizer, using face mask regularly, maintaining social and physical distancing, and others, which he said were mainly for the benefit of all.
Oba Adedotun Gbadebo also urged Muslims to pray for Allah’s guidance for government and business leaders in returning personal and economic health to the country in due course.
