The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, Okukenu IV, has told the Egba and Nigerian Muslims of His Majesty’s identification with them especially during this passing phase of the Covid19 pandemic.
Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, in his Sallah Message on the Eid-el-Fitr Celebration, coming up on Friday, July 31st, 2020, told the Muslim faithfuls, not to give up on prayers as well as taking precautions against contacting and spreading of the worldwide disease, adding that they should obey and put into practice, all the directives of the Federal and Ogun State Governments concerning personal and general public health safety protocols.
Oba Gbadebo said that the annual Eid Celebration, projected unity and love among Muslims and they should feast and celebrate the occasion differently this year due to the ongoing Coronavirus Pandemic that has affected our normal way of life.
He added that large gatherings should be avoided, and that the accepted number of persons at any gathering should not exceed twenty as earlier stated by the Ogun State Government.
He also emphasised that regular sanitisation should be carried out and every individual should ensure a healthy personal hygiene.
Oba Gbadebo also stated that the use of face masks, which had been our every day accessory, should be continued to avoid contact and spread of the deadly virus.
He added that if anyone was feeling ill or feverish, that person should self isolate his or herself and report to the appropriate authorities for proper care.
Alake further prayed that the Eid celebration would be joyous as everyone stays safe at home to observe it.
