The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu has called for peace between Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and the State House of Assembly at the matting of Governor’s Advisory Committee (GAC).
The conflict between the legislature and the executive, which lead to the lawmakers issuing an ultimatum to Ambode last week, to appear before it or face impeachment, necessitated the GAC meeting.
The Assembly had accused the governor of alleged gross misconduct and spending budget that had not been laid before, or approved by it. The situation had attracted sharp criticisms from the public and among the opposition parties.
Tinubu adviced both party to work on proper means of communication so as to
avoide future misunderstanding and work on moving the state forward.
He has however disclosed that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode would not be impeached.
Tinubu gave the assurance yesterday at the meeting of Governor’s Advisory Committee (GAC).
Also speaking at the meeting, a leader in the party, Prince Tajudeen Olusi, added that the two arm of government must resolve their grievances for the betterment of the state
He said conflict is an institutional part of governance in democracy and both The executive and legislature must work together.
Also in the meeting was Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, his deputy, Dr. Idiat Adebule, House of Assembly Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, and his Deputy, Wasiu Esinlokun.
