ABEOKUTA – The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has admonished youths in the state not to allow themselves to be used as tools of destruction by desperate politicians, as the 2019 General Elections is fast approaching.
The Governor who stated this in his address at the 18th convocation ceremony of the Federal polytechnic, Ilaro, encouraged the graduating students to get involved in profitable activities that would have meaningful impacts on their lives and avoid exploited to cause violence at this political period.
Represented by his Chief of Staff, Chief Tolu Odebiyi, Amosun advised them to be good ambassadors and maintain the good image of the polytechnic by contributing positively to the developments of their Alma-mater.
He congratulated the graduands for the successful completion of their programmes, urging them to use the skills and values they have garnered to play vital roles in developing the State and the Nation at large.
In his admonition, the Chairman Governing Council of the institution, Prof. Abubakar Sadauki urged the graduating students to use their various skills to create jobs, rather than being job seekers, saying, ‘’the practical hands on training and exposure to workplace practices, should propel them to stand on their own in the world they are going to’’.
Sadauki lauded the polytechnic as one of the most sought after institution in the country, as declared by the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) due to the stable academic calendar that has assisted in completion of the academic session in record time.
