ABEOKUTA – The Ogun State Chapter of All Progressives Party (APC), has set up a Local Organising Committee (LOC), for the presidential rally to be addressed by President Muhammadu Buhari In Abeokuta on January 31, 2019.
This was contained in statement issued in Abeokuta on Monday by the state chapter of the party’s Caretaker committee Publicity Secretary, Tunde Oladunjoye.
According to the statement, Architect Owodunni Opayemi, has been appointed the chairman of the Committee that is to ensure a befitting and hitch-free reception for the President and his entourage when they visit Ogun State for the rally.
Oladunjoye said President Buhari would also present the party’s flag to the governorship candidate of the party, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
He said the decision to set up the LOC was taken at the meeting of the Presidential Campaign Advisory Council held in Abeokuta on Sunday evening and presided over by the former Governor of Ogun State, Aremo Segun Osoba.
Other members of the LOC are Senator Gbenga Obadara, Mr. Tunji Akinosi, Dr. Yomi Majekodunmi, Barrister (Mrs.) Olubukola Onabanjo, former Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Mrs. Funmi Afuwape, Mr. Semako Huyen, and two former Deputy Governors, Senator Sefiu Adegbenga Kaka, and Chief Segun Adesegun, who is also the Director General of Dapo Abiodun Campaign Organisation (DACO).
The LOC, which will work together with the State Caretaker Committee headed by Chief Femi morning Sanusi, “will liaise with the National Working Committee of the APC to ensure a befitting reception and rally for Mr. President”, the statement said.
