It has been reported that the country home of the immediate past governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha in Ogboko, Ideato South Council Area of Imo State was invaded by unknown gunmen, assumed to be hired assassins.
According to a family source, the invaders were said to have entered the governor’s home around 2 am after which they dealt with the security officials before entering the main building.
It was also reported that nothing important was taken but that the former governor’s bedroom and other places were painstakingly rummaged through and while this was going on, a different set of armed men, also alleged to be Government officials, stormed a radio station, assumed to be owned by the governor and ordered them to demolish the building accommodating the station.
Furthermore, one of the security official working at the station disclosed that one of the assumed government officials turned down the request to unveil their identity while ordering the management of the station to demolish the building or be forcefully evicted.
These incidences came in just two days after the Akachi tower constructed by the former governor was destroyed on the assumed orders of the Imo State Government.
According to reports, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Orlando Ikeokwu, a Superintendent of Police, stated that he has not been officially informed as regards the raid that took place at the governor’s house.
