OSOGBO – The traditional ruler of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun, Larooye II has debunked the allegation making the round that he sold an inheritance of the town “Osun Osogbo symbol” to a foreigner at $15 million.
Oba Olanipekun described the allegation as unfounded, a mere ruse and urged members of the public to disregard it.
The accusation was said to have been levelled against the monarch by one Adigun Iyanda who took to the social media platform to raise the allegation.
It was, however, gathered that the accusation has been generating ripples in the ancient town of Osogbo.
Addressing journalists in his palace, the monarch who frowned at the accusation said the accuser would not go Scot-free, saying that his accuser has incurred the wrath of the goddess over what he termed as a wrong accusation.
Oba Olanipekun who was vexed by the wrong accusation said the accuser would soon be visited by the repercussions of wrong accusations, saying that “Osun Osogbo” is a deity that could not be sold to anybody and threatened to call for the arrest of Iyanda whenever he surfaces in Osogbo.
