Ogun Baptist Conference President, Reverend Wale Oyeniyi advised the Alake, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo to sustain the sterling qualities of his royal forebears in order to ensure a lasting and enduring legacy of the Okukenu Dynasty.
In his sermon at the Christian Thanksgiving Service marking the 14th Coronation Anniversary of the Alake at the Ake Palace Church on Tuesday, the Baptist Conference President, Reverend Wale Oyeniyi, pointed out that, the biblical sentence, “The King shall Live For Ever.” was predicated on quality leadership of Biblical Kings such as David, Solomon and others, who ruled and led their people through the fear of God and compassion for their men.
He therefore admonished the Alake to continue to live by the fear of God, adding that he would thereby live for long and forever through an enduring legacy.
Reverend Oyeniyi argued that no juju could make a bad leader or Dynasty, live for long, pointing out that Godliness, Contentment and love for everyone would make Alake live for long and forever.
He concluded that if a King had successful sons, unforgettable legacies, Godliness, Prayerful, Belief in Christ, he would live forever.
Meanwhile, the Ogun State Government had promised it would continue to accord Traditional Rulers the mutual respect and cooperation they deserve.
The State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, speaking through, his Deputy, Engineer Noimot Salako-Oyedele, made the remark during the Muslim Thanksgiving Service, marking the 24th Coronation Anniversary of the Alake, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo at the Ake Palace on Tuesday.
The Governor noted that Oba Adedotun Gbadebo had always distinguished himself as a reliable monarch whose advice was invaluable to the administration.
In his opening remarks at the Muslim Service, the Chief Imam of Egbaland, Sheikh Orunsolu, said Oba Adedotun Gbadebo had been running the affairs of his people with the quality leadership style of the Holy Prophets, like Mohammed and Jesus Christ.
The Alfa Tafsir of Egbaland, Sheikh Amolegbe described Oba Adedotun Gbadebo as specially ordained by Allah to lead his people and other humans compassionately and most fairly.
Sheikh Amolegbe said Oba Adedotun Gbadebo had always sufficiently demonstrated the sterling qualities of an all round leadership.
He called on the people of Egbaland to rally round and support the Alake to fast track the development of the Egba Nation.
The Christian and Muslim Thanksgiving Services were followed with a luncheon at the new Banquet Hall Ake, Abeokuta
The Muslim and Christian Prayers, as well as the luncheon, marking the 14th Coronation Anniversary were also attended by Government leaders, Traditional Ruler, Egba High Chiefs, and other distinguished persons.
They included Secretary yo the State Government, Mr Tokunbo Talabi, the Chief of Staff, Hon Shuaib Salis, Rtd Admiral Jubreel Ayinla, Diocesan Bishop of Egba Anglican Church, Balogun Sikirullah Atobatele, Aare Ganiyu Babayeju, Asiwaju Maxwell Ayinla, Chief of Staff Salis Shuab, OluItori Oba Fatai Akamo, Oba Olu OkeOdo Muftau Akindele, Baaloro Niyi Adegbenro, Otun Bobagunwa Victor Adebayo, Bada Asoju Oba Wale Odekunle, GbegbaAje Teju Bakre, Otun-Iyaloja Oloyede, Baagbimo Akanni Akinwale, Bantun Kehinde Sofenwa and Aare Baaroyin Layi Labode, among others.
