The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, has declared that the patience, tenacity and compassion for mankind qualified Chief Bode Mustapha for the exalted honour as the Osi of Egbaland.
Oba Adedotun Gbadebo made the remarks during the installation of the former Bobagunwa of Egbaland and a Member Representatives, High Chief Akeem Olabode Mustapha, over the weekend, as the 9th Osi Egba at the Ake Palace.
The Alake noted that the new Osi had all it takes to earn the enviable position in the Egba Traditional Council from the Gbagura Section of Egbaland.
The Egba apex monarch explained that these qualities include quality leadership in Egba, Gbagura and other communities.
He added that his exploits as a consummate businessman had impacted positively in the private sector of Nigeria’s economy, as well as series of positions held as Chief Executive Officer or Director in several Government Parastatals.
Oba Gbadebo also recalled that High Chief Bode Mustapha had earlier in life shown that he had a “Midas Touch” for anything he wanted to do and his commitment had earned him many achievements, culminating into his being the next most important Community leader, after the Agura in Gbagura Section of Egbaland and the forth high ranking Egba Chief in the Egba traditional Council hierarchy.
The Alake commended the new Osi for perseverance and fortitude through the long period of interregnum, after the demise of the 8th Osi Egba, many years ago, adding that many prominent Egba sons from Gbagura have signified interest in the enviable Egba Traditional System.
Oba Adedotun Gbadebo then urged the Osi to sustain the leadership and compassion that made him most acceptable to his people and business associates, and wished him a most successful tenure
Besides, Oba Gbadebo also commended the spouse of the new Osi Egba, Chief (Mrs) Olufadeke Olufumilayo, for her pedigree and professional prowess as well as steadfastness by her husband through the thick and thin.
Chief (Mrs) Mustapha, who was installed as the Erelu Osi Egba, was urged by the Alake to join hands with her husband and other Egba Compatriots to make Egbaland greater.
In his appreciation speech, High Chief Akeem Olabode Mustapha, reassured the Alake, Egba Sectional Obas and Chiefs as well as the generality of the Egba Nation that he would add more values to all he was noted.
He assured the Egba nation of cooperation and collaborate with well meaning Egbas, to make the Egba Nation greater, better and happier.
The Osi also specially appreciated the Egba Sections Monarch for their support, promising his cooperation in making the Egba Nation a greater community in Nigeria.
High Chief Mustapha also commanded the Installation Committee, headed by a former Ogun State Sports Commissioner, Chief Bukonla Olopade, also known I. Sports circle as Ozogula,
He said the Committee had an impeccable and flawless arrangement for the occasion, and reports showed that the seamless plan made the installation a “Royal None Such.” Other members of the Committee included GbegbaAje Teju Adenekan-Bakre and Lekan Adegbola
The installation of High Chief Bode Mustapha, was attended by many prominent people from all walks of life.
Those from the Ogun State Government included the Chief of Staff, Alhaji Shuaib Salisu, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Moruf Afolabi Afuape and Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mrs Modele Sarafa.
Traditional Rulers at the installation included the Agura, Oba Saburee Bakre, the Onijaye Titun Oba Otunba, the Olu Owode, Kola Sowemimo and Olu Siun, Lawrence Odeyinka.
Egba High Chiefs at the occasion included Balogun Sikirullah Atobatele, Seriki Tosin Fadare, Aare Ganiyu Babayeju, Asiwaju Maxwell Ayinla, Odofin Kola Akintoye, Aro Yinka Kufiile, Baagbimo Akanni Akinwale, Baamowe Professor Ajao Adelekan and Aare Baaroyin Layi Labode
The Iyalode of Egbaland, Chief (Mrs) Alaba Lawson led the women community at the occasion, which included the Otun Iyalode Taofeekat, the Iyaloja Kemi Oloyede, GbegbaAje Teju Adenekan-Bakre, the Iyalate Egba, Chief Kudirat Awopeju; Seriki-Iyalate Egba,Chief Veronica Balogun; Seriki Iyaloja Egba, Chief Halimah Modupeola Labode and Erelu-Baamowe Egba, Professor Aminat Adelekan, anong others.
