Gunmen suspected to be armed bandits, on Wednesday, invaded Government Science Secondary School in Kagara, Niger State.
Nagata, where the abduction of scores of students and members of staff occurred is a community in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State.
Reports said that the gunmen also killed one of the students.
However, an unconfirmed account said one of the abducted teachers escaped from the abductors shortly after being kidnapped along with other members of staff and the students of the school.
Recall Niger State had been under the siege of bandits.
This attack is coming less than ten days after suspected armed bandits kidnapped over 20 travellers out of which ten have been rescued.
The source added that the gunmen numbering over 30 and armed with sophisticated weapons headed to the staff quarters as they gained access into the school premises.
It added that staff of the school, after being surrender to the bandits, were lined up and led to the hostel where an undisclosed number of students were abducted and taken away.
The invaders arrived at the school premises at about 2 in the morning and carried out the operation till about 6 a.m. before moving their captors out of the school premises to a yet to be ascertained destination.
The report added that one of the students, in desperate move to escape, was killed by the bandits.
