The Code of Conduct court has ordered the Inspector-General of Police and the Director-General of Police to arrest of the suspended justice of Nigeria, Onnoghen.
Delivering a ruling of the three-man court, the Chairman of the CCT, Danladi Umar, ordered the safety agencies to supply Onnoghen at the court on weekday.
He discharged the objection raised to the applying for the issuing of the bench warrant and ordered that “I need to ascertain the litigant within the dock on Friday”.
The CCT had created the order following associate degree application by the lead prosecuting counsel, Mr. Aliyu Umar (SAN), aforementioned the consistent absence of the CJN from the CCT was a violation of provisions of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act.
Umar, who anchored his application for Onnoghen’s arrest on section 6(1) of the follow Direction of the CCT, additionally opposed the decision on the three-man court by the lead defence counsel, Chief Adegboyega Awomolo (SAN), to listen to all unfinished applications.
Umar maintained that by virtue of section 396(2) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015 no objections might be raised by the litigant till he took his plea.
