“Check Back And Develop Your Alma Mater” – Alake Tasks Egbas


The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, CFR, Okukenu IV, has tasked all Egba sons and daughters to go back to their elementary and secondary schools by making meaningful contributions to their growth and development.

Oba Adedotun Gbadebo gave the charge during the commissioning of a Borehole and perimeter fence reconstruction at St Peters Primary School, Ake, Abeokuta, on Thursday, 18th of November, 2021.

The projects were sponsored
by Chief (Hon) Saburi Olayiwola Olawale, Member, Lagos State House of Assembly, and the new Seriki Bobagunwa-Elect of Egbaland.

The Egba Apex Monarch expressed pride in the initiative of Chief Layi Olawale for giving back to his alma mater, a borehole system for the students to get easy access to water.

He also disclosed that the fence, which was reconstructed, had collapsed several years ago, giving access to miscreants that damaged some items belonging to the school.

Alake further commended Chief Olawale for having the welfare of the current pupils of St Peter Primary School, Ake, at the uppermost part of his heart.

He also called on other Egba compatriots to follow suit and contribute to the greater development of Egbaland, and Ogun State in general.

Oba Gbadebo charged the school officers to ensure good use of the facilities, assuring that his Palace would remain accessible all well meaning Egbas.

In an interview with Newsflagship, Chief (Hon) Layi Olawale appreciated the Alake, as well as the Egba Nation, for honouring his achievements.

He also thanked Alake for his fatherly role, as well peaceful and all inclusive leadership of Egbaland.

Hon Olawale pledged to do more for his immediate communities, adding that it was a call to service.

The Seriki Bobagunwa-Elect also noted that the alma mater was where he gained foundational education and discipline, and he therefore deemed it fit to give to the root of his education.

Speaking on behalf of the school management, a representative of the staff, thanked the Alake of Egbaland for his unique leadership of Egbaland, adding that his reign had brought so much unprecedented development to the nation.

He extolled Alake for always calling on Egbas at home and in Diaspora to contribute their quota to the growth of Egbaland.

He also appreciated the school alumnus, who according to him, had been a pride to the St Peter Primary School, Ake, Abeokuta.

Eminent personalities at the occasion included Oba Saburee Babajide Bakre, the Agura of Gbagura, Balogun Egba – Chief Sikirullah Atobatele, Osi Egba – Chief Bode Mustapha, Seriki Egba – Chief Tosin Fadare, Agbaakin Egba – Chief Rasheed Raji, Aro Egba – Chief Yinka Kufile, Bada Asoju Oba Egba – Chief Oluwole Odekunle, Aare“ Baaroyin Egba – Chief Layi Labode, Dagunja Egba – Chief Lukman Atobatele, among others.
