In continuation of its support for the Alake’s Project, Kill Corona Virus; Kill Hunger Virus,” during the ongoing lockdown, occasioned by Covid19, Less Privileged Recipients received another Covid 19 package – 1,000 loaves of bread from Chicken Republic on Friday.
This was in addition to other palliatives received at the Ake Palace on same day.
According to the Chairman and CEO of the Company, the 1,000 loaves of Chicken Republic’s Butter Krust Gateway Bread were distributed to the needy to reduce the effects of the lockdown caused by the Covid19 Pandemic.
The 1,000 Butter Krust bread were the fifth in the series of reliefs being donated by the Chairman of Chicken Republic, makers of Butter Krust Gateway Bread, Chief Tunji Sumonu, the Otun Baade Aje of Egbaland.
Chief Tunji Sumonu, who is also the Okanlomo of Ake told the Newsflagship Online that his company and family were delighted to support Alake’s humanitarian example to assist the immediate communities, Ake and other areas of Egbaland
The Chairman of the company further urged all citizens to stay healthy and safe during the lockdown by washing their hands regularly with soap or alcohol based hand-sanitizers, using new face masks everyday, and not re-using one face masks for a long period.
Since the lockdown began some four weeks ago, the company had distributed about three thousand pieces of 700gram big loaves of bread to the vulnerable and the needy.
The Egba High Chiefs present during the distribution included Chief Kehinde Sofenwa, the Bantun of Egbaland, and Chief Layi Labode, the Aare Baaroyin of Egbaland as well as the Executive Secretary of Oba Adedotun Gbadebo Foundation, Mrs Oyewunmi Oladipo-Segun.
