The spirits of the old, the needy and other vulnerable, were lifted at Ifesowapo CDA, as the Association distributed palliatives to them yesterday Saturday, 18 April, 2020.
The relief packages were given out in compliance with the Government health instructions on COVID 19, including social distancing and wearing of face masks, as the materials were taking to the beneficiaries in their various homes by the Distribution Committee.
The Chairman of the Ifesowapo CDA, Baaroyin Layi Labode, explained that the Committee had the data of all the houses and residents in the neighborhood and this facilitated easy identification of those qualified to benefit from the aid materials.
Baaroyin Layi Labode expressed appreciation to the Rock Foundation and RCCG Churches, the Ogun State Development Project, OGSTEP Coordinator, the Wonderful Direct Pharmacy as well as some notable Community leaders in the area for donating both cash and foodstuffs.
He noted that their cooperation and collaboration made it possible to cater for over a hundred beneficiaries.
Baaroyin Labode also commended the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, who had earlier sent palliatives to the area, and the Alake who advised every Egba Community to take care of its immediate people, adding that the CDA therefore had to compliment their noble gestures.
The Baroyin of Egbaland also commended the members of the Committee for their selfless and judicious use of all materials and cash donations, by ensuring that more than a hundred households were touched and a relief package might be capable of feeding an average family of 3 or 4 for 3 to 4days.
Members of the Committee were, Dr. (Mrs) Funmilayo Sodipo, Alhaji Malik Baakene, Mr Afolabi Sodunke, Mrs Funsho Ladele, Mr. Lanre Adebowale and Mr Kayode Odetolu.
