The Building Committee of the 1,000 Seater Kensington Adebutu Hall being constructed by the the Ace Philanthropist and Vice Life Patron of the Abeokuta Sports Club, Sir Kensington Adebukola Adebutu, has been advised to work harder and complete the structure by October this year.
The advice was contained in a Goodwill Message from the the Odole Odua, High Chief Adebutu, delivered by his representative and a Vice Patron Elect, Aare Kola Oyefeso at the Turning of Sod of the 1,000 Capacity Hall being constructed and donated to the Club by the Odole Odua.
Aare Kola Oyefeso explained that High Chief Adebutu had facilitated every arrangement to fast track the completion of the edifice for commissioning by October this year, if the Building Committee were ready to compliment the already made plan.
In his Goodwill Message, the Life Patron of the Club, His Majesty, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, described the gesture of the Odole Odua and Vice Life Patron of the Abeokuta Sports Club and proverbial and enduring.
Oba Adedotun Gbadebo appreciated Chief Kensington Adebutu as a God sent Giver who always deployed his fortune to lift up the society and the people, adding that the activities of the Odole Odua would be enduring and outlive many generations.
The Club’s President, Mr Olusola Adesola, disclosed that the construction of the multipurpose Hall was a continuity and a demonstration of positive synergy and good governance at the Abeokuta Sports Club over the years.
Mr Olusola appreciated his immediate predecessor, Deacon Bolarinwa Atilade, in whose administration the idea was conceptualized for his total and committed cooperation.
The President also gave kudos to past President Engineer Mutiu Adebowale, who had put a lot of his professional expertise and commitment into the construction, thereby facilitating the Turning of The Sod of Sir Kensington Adebutu Hall.
He reassured the Odole Odua that the Club would ever remained grateful to him for his great gesture.
The Turning of the Sod of the 1,000 Seat Sir Kensington Adebutu Hall, was performed by the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, represented by the Aare Baaroyin Egba, Aare Layi Labode.
Stakeholders, Elders and Officers of the Club were present at the ceremony.
They included Asiwaju Somolu, Chief Bayewu, Retired Justices Bode Popoola and Deinde Soremi.
Others were Past Presidents Professor Martins Olasunbo and Chief Dipo Odulate.
Also at the occasion were Dr Dayo Akinbo, Dr Kehinde Osifade, Engr Mutiu Adebowale (B O T) Chief Wole Adeyi. Comrade Ayo Adelugba, Chief Soji Ogunjobi and Mr Christ Soetan.
